Working with Uecko has been like finding an emotional and creative mirror
Architect Lourdes Treviño, founder of Freehand Arquitectura, tells us about her experience creating the Rosso Ancora space along with Uecko at MIAD 2025:
‘When we imagined Rosso Ancora, we knew that the heart of the space had to beat in time with strength and beauty. And there was Uecko—a brand with soul. Talking about design with them is also discussing shared values, like the delicacy of the process, the commitment to craftsmanship, and that obsession with detail that transforms the functional into the extraordinary.
Working with Uecko has been like finding an emotional and creative mirror. We agree that luxury is not about ostentation, but rather a way of inhabiting spaces with authenticity, subtlety, and character. The passion with which they craft each piece, their love of wood, of the slow rhythms that give rise to durability… all of this fit in with our vision for MIAD: to create a hotel room that was not only aesthetic, but also a sensory experience.
Rosso Ancora would not exist as such without their participation. And I’m not just saying that to be polite—there are some collaborations that don’t just add to us, but rather reveal something more. Uecko not only understood the atmosphere we wanted to create, but also enriched it with their expertise. That professional complicity, when it happens, leaves its mark. And this mark, I am sure, is one that will last.’
